Screen Printing Machines

Screen Printing MachinesScreen Printing Machines are one of the most versatile printing machines compatible to work on a number of surfaces including textiles, ceramics, metal, wood, paper, glass, and plastic. Screen printing machines have an edge over other print processes in the sense that they can print on substrates of any shape, thickness and size.

Printing Process
A porous mesh made of fabric or stainless steel is stretched tightly over a frame made of wood or metal. Screen printing ink is applied to the substrate by placing the screen over the material. The ink is then forced through the fine mesh openings using a rubber plank that is moved across the screen. Application of pressure forces the ink through the open areas of the screen. Ink passes through areas where no stencil is applied, thus forming an image on the printing substrate.

Factors such as composition, size, form, angle, pressure and speed of the rubber blade determine the quality of the impression made by the it. While earlier majority blades were made from rubber (neoprene), polyurethane is being increasingly used as it can be used for printing up to 25000 impressions without degrading the quality of image.
